Sample Desktop Tool

A cross-platform Electron tool for automating media workflows.

Role

Sole engineer — Electron shell, Node.js backend, ffmpeg integration

Stack

Electron, Node.js, ffmpeg

Outcome

Reduced media processing time by 70%; used daily by a 20-person studio.

The problem

Placeholder — replace with the real client context. A media production studio was spending hours manually transcoding and watermarking video assets. They needed a desktop tool their non-technical team could operate.

The approach

I built an Electron app with a drag-and-drop queue, spawning ffmpeg child processes for each job. A simple preset system lets the team save and reuse encoding profiles.

The outcome

Processing time dropped by 70%. The tool is now a daily driver for the studio's 20-person team, replacing a mix of manual CLI commands and expensive third-party software.
